The Jerk
You Miss Your Jerks Out Front
The fault
The bar finishes in front of the body and you chase it forward.
Why it happens
A jerk missed out front was usually lost before the drive. If the torso is even slightly forward at the start of the dip, the bar has nowhere to go but out.
The fix
Before you dip, lean back. Setting the torso slightly back means the drive sends the bar up and into the slot rather than out in front of it.
