Your Overhead Mobility Is the Roadblock

The fault

Not enough range to get the bar into a genuine overhead position.

Why it happens

The entire point of the sport is putting a heavy load overhead. If the range is not there, every technique fix downstream is working around a limitation instead of removing it.

The fix

A warm up drill to open and prepare the overhead position. Use wide hands before snatching and a regular grip before jerking.
